Autumn has arrived...

...complete with the flu. All three kids have had a rather nasty bout with this ten-day mammoth of a cold that comes complete with a fever. It's been fabulously exhausting. And of course it arrived on our doorstep just as my employment reached the pinnacle of Overworked and Underpaid. They moved all of my deadlines up by two weeks, and since I'm U.S.-bound on Thursday for Lynn and Chris's wedding, my deadlines were all really moved up two-and-a-half weeks. And my author might just be certifiably crazy, like one of those brilliant mathematical minds who hasn't quite mastered the fine art of Normal Daily Life.

With all the insanity, there's been little time to carefully craft some ambitiously articulate tale of our daily lives. So it's going to be yet another round of photos for your viewing pleasure. Maybe when I get home from Lynn and Chris's wedding, I'll have some more time to write something a tad more interesting.

And for those who are interested, we've got our nanny thing all sorted. It turns out that our old nanny's lack of communication was because she was on an extended visit with family in Ireland. So our new nanny is full-time now, and things are back to normal. Although I do miss being able to work from home so much...

Even though October has only just begun, there are some days are really, really chilly.

Some days are still nice and warm.

Apparently, squeezing a pillow can be a truly joyous moment.

A conversation that Eric and Rhys had yesterday:

Eric: So Rhys, what do you want for Christmas?
Rhys: A ballerina.
Eric: Do you want a ballerina doll or a ballerina outfit?
Rhys: An outfit.
Eric: You already have a ballerina outfit. Are you sure you don't want a doll.
Rhys: No, Daddy! I want to dance.

I think it might be time to start looking for a studio.

And of course Ben needed to get into the photographic action. Well, Ben, if you want to dance, too, I am a-okay with that...
Ben loves Eric's hat:
Rhys's favourite food of late: green beans. Now who can argue with that?
Gratuitous cuteness...

...including my new favourite picture of Desi.

Wow!! Those kids are all so big! I love catching up with you all. Glad you are settling in and keeping busy (how could you not be?).

Are you doing editing? My sister does that and she has stories about her nutso authors too... interesting. Hope the trip to the US goes well. Are all the kids going? Eric too?
