Equal Rights for Adopted Children

I know I've been a bit lax on the posting. There will be many Christmas-y pictures to come. I promise.

In the meantime, if you've got a few minutes to spare and don't mind receiving a very interesting newsletter, go here and sign up to be a member of Equal Rights for Adopted Children (it's free). It's a lobby group that is rallying to get equal rights for internationally adopted children (bet you didn't see that coming, did you?). As the legislation stands, children adopted from abroad are treated as immigrants. Even after internationally adopted children of American parents obtain citizenship, they are treated as naturalized Americans, and as such, they are not afforded the same rights as children of American parents who are born biologically. EACH is working to convince congress that internationally adopted children should have all of the same rights as American children born abroad. We agree, and we hope that you'll share in our support by becoming a member (it's free).

Thank you!
