Four years later...

Happy anniversary to us!

I know what you're all thinking. It might go a little something like this:

Jenni and Eric's Friend/Family Member #1: Today is Jenni and Eric's anniversary.

Jenni and Eric's Friend/Family Member #2: Really? Weren't they supposed to have a big party for their first anniversary? You know, since most of us weren't actually able to make it to their semi-elopement of a wedding?

Jenni and Eric's Friend/Family Member #1: Hey, you're right! Whatever happened to that idea?

Jenni and Eric's Friend/Family Member #2: Maybe they were too busy. Or too poor. Rhys was, what? Only five months old on their first anniversary? That may have made it a tad challenging to plan a big party.

Jenni and Eric's Friend/Family Member #1: You're being far too sympathetic. Face it. They never intended to have a party; it was all a big ruse to pacify those of us who weren't invited or able to make it to the wedding. Why are we still friends with them again?

Rest assured our Friends and Family! We are still planning a big party to celebrate our nuptuals, and we want nothing more than for you all to be there to celebrate with us. Of course, it's a tad more difficult to coordinate such a gathering while we are living abroad, but it will happen. It may be another five or six years down the road (which, I might add, would bring us nicely to our tenth anniversary), but it is coming!
