Pictures!

I found my camera cable! It was right in the nifty pocket of my laptop case that's meant for cables. I looked there, I swear, but apparently I needed to look there exactly one million times before I was actually able to reconginize one of the various cables in the pocket as The Cable For Which I've Been Looking For A Month.

In any case, here are the pictures of the snow that's been cropping up every few days around here.

It looks oh-so-lovely and rather picturesque when it comes down in this quaint historic town of ours.
This was actually Ben and Desi's first time in snow. We had snow twice while we were in England: once during the very first week we were there (Ben and Desi weren't walking yet, so we didn't venture outside) and once during April, and it wasn't deep enough to actually play in. So they were quite thrilled (as was Rhys) to get all bundled up and roll around in our backyard.
We had the "Don't eat yellow snow" talk within minutes of walking into our little winter wonderland.
Hagrid loves the snow as much as the kids do. He frolicks in it, he rolls around in it, he eats it (I don't think he quite grasped the "don't eat" part of the yellow snow conversation, but whatever).
So we've seen the snow, we've played in the snow, we've driven in the snow (in my lovely new car, which has a manual transmission that I barely know how to drive and no power steering - that was an...um...adventure? Learning experience? Dance with death?). It's lovely, it's beautiful, it's cold so it may as well be snowing, but quite frankly, I'm over it. The only thing getting me through every chilling moment of every single day is the knowledge that this summer, unlike the days of the last two summers, I will be warm. For the first time in two years, I will be able to sleep in shorts and a t-shirt with nothing but a sheet on our bed. If I really want to, I'll be able to wear my bathing suit every single day for three solid months. I'll actually want ice cream (which might be a problem if I want to wear my bathing suit everyday, but we'll cross that bridge when we get there). The dark, short days are waning. You might be complaining about the sweltering summer, but I will be loving every deliciously warm and sweaty second of it!
