We were enjoying our stir-fried dinner, complete with the tofu morsels that Rhys so loves, when she urgently declared that she needed to use the potty. Since we’re in full-swing potty training mode with Ben and Desi*, there just happened to be a little green potty by the dining room door, so we let her leave the table, scurry over to the potty, drop her pants and sit.
She then proceeded to add a little atmospheric music to our family dinner. NB: When Rhys sings, she sings at the top of her lungs.
“I want my poo to come out, but it won’t!
My poo is stuck, so I’ll have to sit here for a little while longer until it comes out!
Like eight days!”
Subsequent verses were imminent, so I did my own bit of scurrying to find a pen and some paper to record the rest of her little song.
“I want my poo to come out, but it won’t!
And I’ll have to stay here for eight weeks!
I won’t get up until it comes out!
My poo will come out in eight days!
My poo –
Oh! Yippee! My poo came out!”
Now don’t you wish you had your very own serenade to add to your quiet dinners?
*Side note: Desi has secured her place in history as The World’s Easiest Child To Potty Train, because it’s been just that easy. Ben on the other hand...well his much ado about poo is not quite so hilarious!

Your kids are a trip!!!
I think I just laughed for 10 minutes about this!! Oh Rhys!! And great job Desi!!!
About Ben's 'much ado about poo...' wait till you read my new blog about Monty ARGH!!! You ain't see nothing yet.
And about Rhys' poop song. I vividly remember Stoney at that age wanting me to 'show' his production everytime. "Look mommy, there is a big one and a little one: the mommy and the boy!"
