For the first time since my eighteenth birthday...

...I was living outside of the United States during a presidential campaign and election.
...I actively supported a candidate.
...I was greatful that we have cable so we could watch the election results live.
...I vowed to forgo sleep to watch the results roll in.
...I fell asleep anyway and missed seeing the electoral vote counter pass over the all-important 270.
...a black man was elected President of the United States.
...the person I voted for won.
...I did a little jig when the loser conceded defeat.
...I cried tears of joy (rather than swore) when the new President elect gave his victory speech.
...I am proud to be an American.

Well done, America, well done.
